This article will instruct you step-by-step on how to connect your phone system to Sameday.

Connecting your phone system

Ring Central

Step 1: Log into your RingCentral account.

Visit https://service.ringcentral.com/ and enter your login credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the 'Users' tab.

On your dashboard, go to the 'Users' tab located on the main menu. Here, you'll see a list of all users associated with your RingCentral account.

Step 3: Select the user you want to set up call forwarding for.

Click on the user whose calls you want to forward to an external number.

Step 4: Access the user's call handling settings.

On the user details page, locate and click the 'Call Handling & Forwarding' option under the 'Phone System' section.

Step 5: Add a forwarding number.

Click on 'Add Forwarding Number' button located at the bottom of the call forwarding numbers list. You'll then see a pop-up window where you can add a new forwarding number.

Step 6: Input the external number.

In the 'Add Forwarding Number' pop-up, input the external number you want to forward calls to. Ensure you input the number correctly to avoid any issues.

Step 7: Configure call forwarding settings.

Configure the call forwarding settings as per your preference. You can specify when you want calls to be forwarded (e.g., always, during business hours only, or after hours only). You can also set up the sequence or simultaneous ring, i.e., how you want your devices to ring (all at once or in a specific order).

Step 8: Save your settings.

After you've entered the external number and configured your settings, click 'Save'. The new forwarding number will now be added to your user's call handling settings.

This process will ensure that any calls made to the specified user's number are forwarded to the external number you have set up. Note that the precise details and steps might vary slightly based on your RingCentral plan and the version of the app you're using.

 

Dial Pad

adding the external number as a "Forwarding Number" on your profile. Here's how:

Step 1: Log into your Dialpad account.

Go to https://www.dialpad.com/ and log in using your credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to your 'Settings'.

On your dashboard, click on your profile picture in the upper right corner and select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Open 'Your Devices' tab.

In the settings window, navigate to the 'Your Devices' tab.

Step 4: Add a new forwarding number.

Under the 'Forwarding Numbers' section, click on the 'Add New Number' button.

Step 5: Enter the external number.

Input the external number where you want to forward the calls. Please note that this number will receive a verification code to ensure it is a valid number.

Step 6: Verify the number.

You will receive a verification code via a phone call to the entered number. Enter this code in Dialpad to verify the external number.

Step 7: Adjust your forwarding settings.

Under 'Incoming Calls', you can toggle 'Desktop + Mobile + Forwarding #' to ensure that incoming calls are forwarded to the external number you added.

Again, this process essentially sets up the external number as one of your "devices", and the calls are forwarded there along with your other devices. It's not exactly the same as forwarding calls to an external number but will have a similar result.

 

Aircall

Step 1: Log into your Aircall account.

Go to https://dashboard.aircall.io/login and enter your credentials to log in.

Step 2: Navigate to the 'Numbers' section.

Once you're logged in, click on the 'Numbers' tab on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Step 3: Choose the number you want to set up forwarding for.

From the list of your Aircall numbers, select the one you want to forward calls from.

Step 4: Go to 'Call Distribution'.

Once you're in the number's settings page, click on the 'Call Distribution' tab.

Step 5: Choose 'Forward Calls'.

In the 'Call Distribution' settings, you'll see a 'Forward Calls' option. Click on it.

Step 6: Input the external number.

You'll see a field where you can enter the phone number you wish to forward the calls to. Enter the desired number.

Step 7: Save your settings.

Click 'Save' to finalize the setup. From now on, all calls to the chosen number will be forwarded to the external number you specified.
